What we fund

We fund scholarships, bursaries and grants so that young people seeking access to Higher and Further education won’t be held back by financial barriers.

This type of support opens doors for young Londoners from disadvantaged and marginalised backgrounds, who might otherwise be unable to progress through College or University.

We want to help create a more equitable society by ensuring that talent and hard work, not financial circumstances, determine a young person’s future.

Our Scholarships, Bursaries and Grants funding theme provides ring-fenced support to Further and Higher Education institutions, enabling them to address disadvantage, marginalisation and underrepresentation through targeted programmes.

We also award bursaries directly to individual students through a separate scheme which opens each August.

The change we want to see

  • Young people from disadvantaged or low-income backgrounds are financially supported through their education.
