In November 2021, Diane Lees DBE (Director General of the Imperial War Museums) gave a thoughtful and inspiring lecture on the role of museums in contemporary society, reflecting on the many different ways they can reach and engage with wider audiences and help promote learning.

In particular, Diane discussed the many ways museums have connected with new audiences in recent years – especially as the pandemic closed the physical doors of their buildings.

We're delighted to share that The Portal Trust Education Lecture 2021 is now available to download and read, including forewords from the Chairman and Chief Executive and Diane's entire speech.
