Yesterday, the Independent Film Trust announced that they are launching their professional mentoring programme, Talent Led: Next Generation.

Sponsored by the Portal Trust, the programme will help 18-25 year old film, TV and immersive media creatives in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Wandsworth to pursue a professional career in the UK screens sector.

Though masterclasses, one-to-one mentoring and a final pitching showcase to industry executives, the programme will teach young creatives about film development, pitching processes and the skills and industry knowledge needed for film production.

Established in 2004, the Independent Film Trust (IFT) helps underrepresented talent to develop film, TV and creative media projects for a more inclusive and representative film and media sector.

Talent Led: Next Generation was created by the IFT as a response to the British production boom and will help to 'equip young people with the tools and intel needed to build life-long careers in the industry and plug the skills gap that is much needed for the future of UK film.'
